Crown Hill cemetery in Tulsa county was originally started for African Americans. One thing not well known is that the buildings were constructed with bricks reclaimed from the destruction of the Greenwood area of Tulsa during the race riots of 1921. This area was called the black wallstreet of America. The above pictured building is centered in the cemetery.

If you have family buried in the Crown Hill Cemetery and/or have obits (with newspapers permission or an obit that you can write) or tombstone photos or individual portraits or can write a short bio or have a history of the cemetery and would like to add your information to this website, contact the area coordinator for more information.
